KIESEL

  • Age: 25, appears younger and is often underestimated.
  • Origin: Western European.
  • Appearance: Athletic and well-toned but not overly muscular. He embodies a natural fitness look rather than a bodybuilder image.
  • Character Traits:
  • Respectful: Shows respect to everyone as long as he receives the same in return.
  • Creative and Reliable: Constantly comes up with new ideas and implements them reliably.
  • Self-Confident: Knows his worth and doesn't get easily discouraged.
  • Team Player: Works well with others as long as they aren't antisocial.
  • Willingness to Learn: Open to new things, self-taught, and constantly striving to improve.
  • Ambitious: Sets goals for himself and works hard to achieve them.
  • Charming: His healthy self-confidence gives him a natural charm that captivates people. (Downsides? Currently seems only positive.)

With these character traits, he has the potential to be both a sympathetic figure and a source of inspiration for viewers. It will be exciting to see how he asserts himself in the world of filmmaking and among the often exaggerated characters working in the industry. It would also be interesting to observe how he reacts to challenges and how his relationship with Coco develops.

Backstory & Background of Kiesel (see also Profile: EMIR):

Kiesel, a young, charismatic man in his early twenties, has already experienced a lot despite his age. His youth was marked by the painful experience of losing his parents in a tragic accident, which gave him a certain inner maturity and seriousness. (But also led to a kind of hard-heartedness that reflects in a greater willingness to take risks and, in darker moments, manifests as cynicism and bitter sarcasm.)

Shortly after his parents' death, Kiesel fell into a problematic phase. Desperate and without clear guidance, he spent a lot of time with his best friend Emir. The two became inseparable and supported each other through difficult times. But one evening, after perhaps drinking too much or engaging in a risky adventure, a tragic incident occurred in which Emir lost his life.

This moment changed Kiesel's life forever. (2 trag...) The exact circumstances of Emir's death are unclear, but there are different perspectives on it. For Emir's brother, Kiesel was the culprit. A random witness might have seen that Kiesel tried to help Emir, but his view was limited and incomplete. Kiesel's own memories are clouded by guilt and remorse, although he is firmly convinced that he tried to help Emir.

In the aftermath of this traumatic experience, Kiesel went down a bad path. Without clear direction and driven by pain, he got into trouble and was on the verge of going to jail.

This is where Kiesel's uncle, the producer, comes into play. Knowing that Kiesel needed a second chance and shouldn't end up in jail, he used his influence and proposed a deal: instead of going to prison, Kiesel should work on the set of his latest film project to repay his "debts" to society. For the uncle, this was also an opportunity to offer his nephew a new direction and a fresh start after all he had been through.

At the set, Kiesel meets a colorful mix of characters, including D. Book, the sarcastic and fearless director, and Coco, the innocently charming actress he will later fall in love with. Despite the challenges and skepticism of many crew members, Kiesel shows his worth and begins to overcome his past and the associated shadows.

Character Development:

Kiesel is a fireworks display of emotions, sarcasm, humor, and skills whose full extent is revealed over the course of the series. His sometimes risky actions and plans, often disrupted by others' incompetence, make him a vastly underestimated or overestimated figure in the first run. Not least because he is pressed into forms and norms that contradict his personality. His strong moral compass, which is not always law-abiding but always thoroughly thought out, often leads to amazing and unexpected results.

His loyalty is unshakable once he has formed a connection with someone.

In the series, we often see flashbacks to key moments in his life that make certain actions in the present more meaningful. His constant presence in various departments is the red thread of the series, allowing a deep dive into the process of producing such a format. Kiesel has the dubious talent of triggering certain types of people in the shortest time so that they reveal their true selves.

He also awakens sleeping dogs in the various departments, and we experience an incredibly precise portrayal of the stereotypical processes and characters on a film set. His development over the course of the series—from a seemingly chaotic individual to a central figure who continuously challenges and expands the viewers' understanding of him and the events around him—makes him one of the most versatile and unforgettable characters of the show. Over time, we learn to love him and understand why his seemingly idiotic actions make sense in a larger context. Kiesel embodies the principle of unpredictability and shows that not everything that seems pointless at first glance actually is. His development reflects the complexity of life itself, full of surprises, twists, and deeper meanings.
